Shipper Owned Containers (SOC)

SOC shipments - between box owners and vessel owners

SOC shipment happens when the box owner books space with other vessel owners. For example Trans Asia Line booked spaces with Sea Consortium (Sea Consortium is solely operating SOC shipments only - no COC). In this case Sea Consortium will provide the infomation of container discharging list and vessel arrival notice (no BL number)while Trans Asia Line will be the receiver of Bill of Lading (BL) for Delivery Order (DO) collection.

Another example, SOC shipment between CMA and Trans Asia Line. In this case, Trans Asia Line books space with CMA but using own container. CMA will have meo BL where the consignee is under Trans Asia Line. Therefore different shipping agents will have differenc procedures.
